Long ride this Saturday 6/23 morning
Long ride this Saturday 6/23 morning
Looking to do 80-100 miles, endurance > moderate pace this Saturday in prep for a longer ride hopefully next week. Looking to get the miles in rather than chasing KOM's or summiting Wawa.
Ride into New Hampshire? To Boston and back? To Providence and back?
Want to leave early-ish (6:30?) from Stow Plaza.

I'm in for some (if not all) of this. Sounds much better than Brett's sufferfest to Barre! (Actually, I wish I were in good enough shape to hang with that ride.) I'd prefer to go NW into rural-ness, rather than into high traffic urban-ness. I did a good long ride to Hollis, NH with GSclar a while back. I found some good roads, and can put it together from Stow.

Nice Doug, is the start time good for you? We could leave from your place I'f that makes it easier.

Re: Long ride this Saturday 6/23 morning
This is the ride I did back in February. It wasn't flat, but didn't have much in the way of big hills either.

I'd prefer to start a little earlier, if possible, and ride from my house. Perhaps we could meet at the Nashoba Winery at 6:30? It's probably equidistant from our houses.

In for part of it....need to be home by 10:30ish....if the route is the same one that John Raguin does, there is a good bail out spot up north that cuts though Groton, Ayer, Harvard back to Stow.

What do you expect the pace to be relative to last Saturday's endurance ride? Scott -- where do you plan to jump in? I may return with you.

Bruce, I'll plan to hook up with Russ at Stow Plaza at 6...based on Doug's map, I'll probably peel off before the NH border and head a bit west then south on 119 and back down 111.

I'm in for Scott's abbreviated ride with the early turnaround.
Russ, can I still chase KOMs?

Doug, what time are you leaving your h

What subject do you teach? I'm guessing it's not English!
"TWO WOMEN ARE SITTING NEXT TO ONE ANOTHER ON A PLANE, ONE ASKS THE OTHER "wHERE YOU GOING TO?" THE OTHER WOMEN HAUGHTILY REPLIES" DON'T YOU KNOW YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO END SENTENCES WITH A PREPOSITION?" THE OTHER WOMAN SAYS " WHERE YOU GOING TO- BITCH".

LMAO, Doug!
Ok to chase KOM's Jeremy, just palm to take a nap at the top as I grind my way up.
Bruce: I'm hoping to keep a steady pace with the goal of getting the miles in without ending it cramped and/or bonked.

Better to have a hanging preposition than a dangling participle, especially if you're going on a long ride like this one.

Doug, all I know is I'll be taking you to climbing school tomorrow. See you in homeroom.

Hanging preposition throat punching at its best.
I am in if I can get my bike ready in time.

Looks like we'll have to ride our way out of the rain...

Bailing out. Will ride later in the day. Once I work out the time I'll post something up.

Russ, I grabbed your jacket from Jacob. Call me if you need it in a hurry.
