Not much on the calendar this weekend so I'd like to get in a few longer rides. I'm open to any suggestions but I would prefer earlier in the day -- but not ridiculously early.
As a starting point, or if no one else has other ideas:
Saturday: I'll likely ride from my house, leaving around 7:30 or 8:00am, join up with the Saturday CRW A group for 25 miles of fun, then return for a total around 50 miles with some good intensity. You can join me from Franklin or meet up on the road (Westboro or Hopkinton are good starting spots)
Sunday: I can host another "Tour of the Franklinkill" and we can head south into RI. 60 miles, leaving at 8am from Franklin. We'll head east into Norton/Rehoboth, the roads are pretty nice and after the first 10 miles or so they are flatter than a pancake. This will be a "tempo" ride, meaning not drilling or lolligagging it. i.e. warm up easy, then steady, non-stop paceline riding for the middle 40 miles (2 hours) or so. Either ride would work for me although doing CRW on Saturday I might prefer a flatter ride on Sunday. Whatever. I could do this on Saturday too if there's any momentum that way.
We could also do a Purgatory/Douglas loop and I could meet you Northerners on the road...
Chris, although a 40 mile paceline on pancake flat roads gets my inner Jens all excited, I won't be able to make it tomorrow. I hope you post a similar ride soon...
THAT was a fantastic workout/ride: nearly 90 minutes of (for me) tempo/threshold pace lining w/Chris P, PJ and Stefan after an ample 40 minute warmup. I can't believe I was able to hang in there until the last couple of rotations after not riding my bike since Blunt Park.
