FMR - change of venue

Post by KTeves »

The Cannoli Cafe's food selection for last week's FMR consisted of corn muffins and . . . well, nothing. And the coffee is equal to the food selection. It stinks :P

The summer is in full-swing and outdoor seating is now an option (and I miss our old buddy  ). So can we get a show of hands for changing the FMR start back to Lala Java?

Can we get Lala java to cater to the Canoli parking lot?

Could you get the Lala Java clientele to switch to CC too? ;)

So it looks like we have one vote in favor of the Cannoli Cafe's Joe & corn muffins and the remainder abstaining. :)

Seriously though, I'm sure it's not the CC's food & drink that's swaying people but more convenience of location for the folks in the Stow locale. I thought I'd throw this out there cause it seemed that Lala Java was popular at the time, but I'm fine either way.

It is the location and they have worked well with us on our social rides to date. We should ask if they can provide some of the catering they did for that on friday mornings. The home made gluten free banana bread and chocolate cake that the waitress made were excellent.

The solution to the coffee is not to drink it. You can't beat a cuppa tea after a ride!! Ask Busick and Pare they are assimilating!!!

Here is a tale of the tape in my opinion:
* Distance to my house: Lava Java - 18.6 miles. Cannoli Café – 15 miles.
Winner: Cannoli Café, but not by much.
* Quality of coffee: Cannoli Café coffee stinks and no espresso. Lava Java, better and has espresso.
Winner: Lava Java
* Seating: Lava Java – Outdoor seating which is nice, but a problem in bad weather. Cannoli Café – Only indoor.
Winner: Push
* Quality of baked goods – Cannoli Café stinks. Lava Java – better, but not great.
Winner: Lava Java
* Roads to/from the route – Cannoli Café closer to current route. Main road isn’t great riding from Lava Java.
Winner: Cannoli Café, but not by much.

So, overall I would vote Lava Java but not by much.

I gotta disagree with you on this one John. Lala Java's food (and coffee) selection is miles above CC's.

Crawford is a dangerously narrow road for a group and is riddled with wheel destroying holes, which is my only complaint about using this as the FMR coffee shop.

Not anymore . . . Crawford has been repaved.

Mark, I think that is the same stuff (I mean the actual pastries!) that was in there 2 weeks ago. There's never anyone in there but us, so I don't see how they move any inventory...

 hilarious!

Also, it looks like there's nothing but cannoli's in there. I don't usually have those for breakfast. :)

I had a muffin. It wasn't bad. But I wouldn't say it was really good either.

We're cyclists. We shouldn't be eating. Power to weight ratio etc etc

Cannoli Cafe helps with this

Yeah, it wasn't the greatest of selections... but like Cratty said, why are we eating anyway?
