Zwift vFMR 6:15 AM 12/23
Zwift vFMR 6:15 AM 12/23
Hey all you zwifters, come join us on the first officially sanctioned zwift event lead by MRC
http://zwift.com/events/view/4035
How to join an event:
http://zwiftblog.com/joining-group-ride-race-zwift/
Since this is being run as a Zwift Event it will start at 6:15 Promptly, Doug would be proud.
We are using discord for voice. I recommend getting it set up and trying at at some other ride during the week to get it dialed in.
To join the group chat you need to download the Discord app, create a free account, and verify it by clicking on an email. Then click Join Server (I think it's a big "+" sign) and use this alias:
https://discord.gg/yUep8KD
It should come up in the app with the title "MRCgroupRide" and you'll need to click on the "MRCvoice" button to get fully in.
A pair of earbuds with a mic work great but other solutions might be just fine. I'll try to get on early Friday, feel free to text me

It's ok that you just saw it Scott since it still hasn't happened yet. I put it out there really early while I had all the details in my inbox.
Since it's an officials recurring zwift event we are committed to having someone lead it every week until we cancel it

In. Just prereg'ed!
Re: Zwift vFMR 6:15 AM 12/23
Reminder this is happening tomorrow morning.
We have 28 riders prereged. 5 of us, Brad from 545 and a slew of people from around the world.
You should probably log onto zwift at least 15 minutes early.
Make sure you select MRC Friday Morning Ride from the list of events on the right of the screen when you are logging in.
After registering you may begin your ride on whatever route you’d like. While riding, click the “Join Event” button at the bottom-left to be transported to the staging area for your event.
By default the “Join Event” button shows up 15 minutes before the event begins, although ZwiftHQ can modify this for particular events.
If you do not click “Join Event” but continue riding, the game will pop up a warning that your event is starting soon, and will automatically take you to the start area if you click nothing and continue to ride.
Remember we are using discord for audio.

Re: Zwift vFMR 6:15 AM 12/23
How's this for tweaking it for next week:
LAP 1:
Steady 2.5 W/kg from the start to the Box Hill KOM
Attack Box Hill. The leader will act as a back marker on Box hill, maintaining a steady 3.3 w/kg up Box hill (around 9:00 for the segment)
After the banner at the top of box hill, if you are ahead of the leader, soft pedal at 1 w/kg.
The leader will go back to 2.5 w/kg at the banner and sweep up those that are soft pedaling.
LAP 2:
Steady 2.5 W/kg until the start of the Box Hill KOM
Everyone should be behind the leader until we hit Box Hill
Then hammer time from the bottom of Box Hill to the finish line (around 5 miles)

Re: Zwift vFMR 6:15 AM 12/23
Sounds good. I'll set up a second voice channel on our discord that we can share publicly on the description for these rides (now very popular -- over 70 participants!). We can keep our current channel private (to use for other MRC team only rides)
Re: Zwift vFMR 6:15 AM 12/23
Our group ride is HUGE... HUGE.... just HUGE. Next week it's going to BIGLY

Re: Zwift vFMR 6:15 AM 12/23
Wait our best spot was 9th and you lost to Brad Walker? GROSS. Where the hell is MC Pace on this list?
Re: Zwift vFMR 6:15 AM 12/23
Wait, I thought you were joking about the DQ.... I was legitimately behind you at the bottom of the hill, remember I asked you when does the hill start? You were in front of me at that point. I call foul.
And if it makes you happy Jeremy I beat Brad in a 3 up sprint for seventh
