I guess I'll be riding the Philly Livestrong Challenge again this year instead. Total cost about the same, a charity of my choosing and a technically challenging course, maybe too challenging although it's only a century - one of my riding partners got plenty of stitches going over the railing on a downhill switchback through the woods and several others went down as well. Airlines waive the bike fee for charity, hotels offer free transport to the airport and discounted rates. Registration $50 and minimum $250 fundraising. Not bad and Lance and his entourage lead it out with the usual party at the end.

I got a note back from the president of Harpoon. His arrogance is amazing!

Glad to see that MRC is taking the high road on this one. Of the 20+ people that I personally know that did this the last few years, I am happy to report that all of them are not doing it this year.

Should be interesting....

Scott- any chance to share the message or snippets of it? Quite curious.......... BTW- I have not had a Harpoon since this "episode" has been kicked up. So that has cost Harpoon about $25 :)

They'll probably still sell out, but hopefully received a good message... don't take your customers for granted.

Just received my "last chance to register" emails and happily ignored them.

Mark-
Sorry, I missed your note....

The CEO's first sentence in his email back to me:

"our aim is create an elite and exclusive event for fellow Harpoon lovers...."

I deleted it after that. My personal point to him was that Harpoon's success was never driven by any type of elitist/exclusive attitude.

Funny, I have the original Harpoon cycling jersey....black with red and white argyle....think I'll mail that back to him...

I haven't been on the page....did it sell out??

Steen/Todd,

Chris Kadlick was the person who originally tried to get a Framingham to Jiminy Peak B2B (or P2P as he called it) event off the ground. He created the route, water stops, even a website for it.
But ultimately had to cancel due to lack of interest and support.

I'd suggest reaching out to Chris to pick his brain about this if there's serious interest. He did a lot of the ground work so why re-create the wheel.
Mmmm....pizza.
