Parts of Stow , Littleton,and Bolton Roads in Harvard have been oiled and sanded. Best bet is to bike from Acton.

Drove to Fruitlands today (biked past it too many times, nice to actually see the place up close) and took some of my regular cycling roads to get there. I can confirm that Stow Road has been chip-sealed all the way to the top. As we drove it, there were some cyclists making their way up, could not have been fun for them: lots of loose gravel. But better than riding down!

Can anyone give me some idea how long it will be until these roads will be rideable again?

I rode some of these roads (by accident not being sure which ones were done) on Sunday and they were far less bad than I expected. Stay in the tire track to the far right and it's very compacted. There's likely to be some loose stuff for quite some time so just take it easy on the descents.

No, I don't, but parts of Littleton Road in Harvard supposedly is going to get down.

Went up Stow Road this morning and if you stay in the half-lane where the right tires of cars have ground the rock into the road, it's not bad at all: not bumpy but slightly rough. No oily bits at all. But there is plenty of loose stone collected in the shoulder, the center of each lane and the center of the road though, take great care if you choose to take Stow down...

I can't speak for the other roads that were chip-sealed.

Riding on those roads was the most fun I've had in a long time! I've been heading out there with Bob Gorman nearly every day and flying around Harvard to ride my ($5,000+ Madone SL with $1000+ Campy wheelset) bike on as much of those compacted dirt/oil roads as possible. It's a blast man! Even got loose in the rear end flying down Stow Rd.

I must have good bike handling skill from prior practice on my KREITLER ROLLERS (now comes shameless plug) which by the way are for sale in the 'classifieds' area of this site....
