We had a small but successful contingent at the NEBC Kid's Race in Winchester on Saturday.

Royce Abel was 2nd in the boys' 9/10 Crit
Anna Savage was 2nd in the girls' 9/10 Crit and
William Savage received the 'Best Chaser' award in the boy's 11/12 Crit.

All three kids also participated in a Pursuit Challenge where pairs of kids chased each other from opposite sides of a cinder track.
I think Anna did it three times and was asking for more even as NEBC was taking down the tents.

Lots of enthusiasm was seen from both the competitors and volunteer staff.

Big thanks to NEBC for a great event.

After the race, Royce told me he needs to learn how to corner better in the crit - he said that is where he lost time. I told him Mr. Savage was the guy to learn from.

I think Royce raced two or three times in the pursuit and ended up getting 3rd in the boys 9 - 12 (behind the kid with the custom bike/clipless pedals and the big kid in the red shirt/bike). Anna was tough holding her own with both the boys and girls in the pursuit - very impressive.

We'll see if we can get some of these kids to try cross in the fall. I can swap out to some Cx Schwables on Royce's Novara Pulse.
