Minuteman Road Club

Has anyone been out to Wachusett Mtn recently? Any chance of sneaking thru to get a road ride to the top there? I miss it...

I know in the summer there was the massive sign saying no bikes and no cars, and they were actively working on the roads. Are they still doing that, or would weekends be a time where we might get away with safely climbing?

I was up there with the family about four weeks ago and we hiked to the top on the trail, but walked down the road. There is still the massive sign blocking it, saying it will reopen "in 2011". The road was completely paved, but needed to be cleaned up a bit before you ride on in - particularly going down could be a challenge (lots of debris still on the surface).
