Sat 6:30am Stow Plaza Harvard loop 2 Laps

Want to do two circuits of the "standard" Sat. loop at a "spirited pace" (thx Rich Person). Have to start early due to work later. Should roll through Stow Plaza to start lap 2 between 7:45 and 8:00.

Won't want to wait long as it will be cold and likely still wet.

Will negotiate drop/no-drop status with whoever shows up.

Here's the route. Note that it crosses over itself at the intersection of W. Acton and Boxboro/S.Acton.

uhh, did I say "in?" I'm taking a wait and see approach; if I'm not there, don't wait. If I do show, I'll have to cut out of the second lap a little early, probably take rt. 111 home.
At least the rest of the weekend looks nice.

DEFINITELY check this thread before you ride out tomorrow morning: I will be up and ready no matter what, but if there's even a chance of slippery roads, I'll post a wimp-out by 6 a.m. and hit the trainer

EDIT: My mid-day assignment just canceled, so we could start later...

I am potentially in for this and potentially the 2 loops. But I have a suggestion. Instead of going out towards Bolton (which will likely be colder and have potential for ice), we should do a loop headed towards Boston. Maybe through Carlisle, Concord, Sudbury, and back to Stow. If I have a chance, I will look for a suggested loop that will take us 1 hr 20-25 minute range. I think we will have less of a chance for ice going inbound. Note that the Acton current forecast has a low of 33 overnight, so not freezing.

Two things: 1) want/need hills 2) it was a ride into Carlisle a few weeks ago where Gary S took a dive on the ice and we had to walk our bikes 1/2 mile back down to more tractable roads.

I'm hoping a later start will do the trick.

Looking at the weather, a later start would give us a huge benefit. Anyone for heading out at 10 or 11? Plus, there are a couple of our Boston based brethren who might be enticed along if we do this...

I have 3 hours on the schedule tomorrow....was planning to head out early as my wife is working but if I can land a sitter for a few hours, can join a later ride.

Sorry guys, I am out. I need to start early and I think the roads will be sketchy that early. I am staying indoors.

I'm out, too. Looks like the trainer tomorrow and a ride Sunday afternoon.

Jumping onto Sweeny's ride as 9 a.m. is perfect for me!
