I am posting Chris Pare's post separately from the old one:

"Saturday morning. I’m planning on doing a 50 mile loop from Franklin to Purgatory and back. Since most of you might come from the North and usually assault Purgatory from a Westboro start, I’ll propose a rendezvous point in Northbridge. The Burger King on 122 (corner of 122 and Church St) should be equidistant from both starting points (my house and Roche Bros Westboro) -- about 14-15 miles. If anyone is interested, post up and I’ll plan to arrive at the BK parking lot at 8:00am. From there it’s up Purgatory Road, left on Southwick, left on Mendon Road, do a lap of the Purgatory road race loop, then part ways.

Here is the whole loop I will be riding:

Of course ignore everything before the BK on 122 and then after the parting of ways…If you want to start in Franklin I'm rolling from my house at 7 AM."

For those of you who are coming from the north, let's meet behind the Roche Bros in Westborough at 7 AM (parking lot is closest to Bingham St). I am in and starting from Westborough.

I'm hoping to join this ride somewhere but need to arrange child care. Chris I'd like to join you somewhere in Milford around Rt 140 but I'm not yet sure I can get anyone to take care of the kids that early. I'll check back in when I finalize plans at home.

To summarize, so far it looks like:

Chris, Russ, and Doug starting in Franklin
John R. starting in Westboro
Smudger undecided
Len TBD, possibly hooking up with the Franklin contingent en route

Anyone else?

Hi, any idea what the pace is going to be? Drop/no-drop?

Thanks,
Matt

This is Chris' ride so I won't speak with authority here, but looking at the participants arrayed (I'm the only Cat 5) and the fact that this is the next race for most of us, I would expect a "spirited" pace (Rich Person's term), especially on the climbs.

I'd guess we'll average 17 and change, but there are substantial hills. We typically regroup at the top. No one will be dropped as a rule, especially in unfamiliar terrain, but you can probably expect a 'spirited' pace. I think 'spirited' is somewhere between cruising and hammering ;)

"Spirited" sounds good. I'll be at the Westborough Roche Bros., 7am.

Can't make it tomorrow morning, no childcare. I can make it out later in the morning or early afternoon so I will post up separately.

Hopefully in. My 7 month pregnant wife has said to "let her sleep" if she is sleeping well. So... if someone wants to come by my house at 6 AM and use a fog horn that would be great.

If I ride I'll meet up in Westborough at 7AM. If I am riding alter that I'll probably hit up the Sutton hills and there is a 6.5% chance you will see me.
