Muudy Park

The course was basically two long ride able sections intertwined with two long hike a bike sections thru 2 feet of mud. I enjoyed the pedaling part but the marching thru the mud not so much. I went into the woods 8th and ended the race in the same spot. Lots of DNF’s due to the broken spirit factor and mechanicals. The top guys ran thru the muck, which I could barely walk thru. I was hoping for a better result but will settle with the two and a half hour race without cramping. I was actually gaining ground toward 7th at the end. I’ll be looking to do one more MTB race before the 24 sometime in July. I was hoping to get a road ride in tomorrow before a flight to Dallas but as I sit here totally exhausted I will settle for getting the NH real estate off the MTB

Nice job finishing. That sounds like a pain, and is reminding me of the VT50 two years ago. Hopefully you didn't destroy your bike.

Hike-a-bike? No thanks, would have been huck-a-bike for me.
Nice finish though...

I work with turbines that spin smoothly up to 22,000 rpm on some of the planets finest lubricants. Some of you know I am anal about drive train cleanliness. I can only say the noises I heard today while pedaling my steed a 50 rpm were quite disturbing. Only time will tell what damage was done.

Bill - Good job - at least you were out there.
Thinking of a Harding Hill/Carabassett 50-miler back to back in July as prep. Any interest? Or the 6-hr in Williston instead of the 50-miler.

Rob, I have Harding Hill on my calendar. Everyone else who hated the Pinnacle. Harding hill is flat and not as tortuous.

I'm on standby the weekend of Harding Hill but will race if I don't have to work.

Todd and Bill - sounds good. I hate the HH course but not many options to race the MTB at speed prior to 24hr of GG. It seems every time I race Harding Hill it's a mud fest. Now, instead of heading all the way to Maine I might consider a Hilltowns/Eastern Cup 2 day beatdowwn if I can get the full hall pass.
