great ride Gary. The 115K was hard enough for me.

Pennel Hill Rd (the jeep track just north of the Vermont border on the southbound leg) totally kicked my ass. I think the grade went from 0% to 20% in the space of 20 ft. Patten hill rd was a good a good time as well :)

Link to the 115K route I did if anyone is interested: http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com/Course. ... rse=302539

What a great event - great hills, great food, all around great vibe. Thanks to Mike and Steve for waiting at the top of the hills and Jorge for the comic relief.

On a somewhat sad note: Irene significantly damaged the bridges and roads in the area. From Sandy (the ride organizer):

"Green River Road has been washed away completely in places, although this happened in 2005, and the road was rebuilt.

Eunice Williams Covered Bridge (the first covered bridge on the 115K and 40-mile) barely survived. One abutment was destroyed, putting the bridge sloping down at a 10-degree angle, and 150 feet of road before it, plus the dam, were obliterated ten feet deep. Unreal. They don't call it "flood plain" for nothing."
