Ok first race report here. While not technically a race it was a fun. As this being my first ITT didn't know what to expect but as the Cannondale Natick store is so close I figured what the heck. As I trainer on a computrainer primarily I'm very familiar with the load changes so figured what the heck good little test. Arrived, checked in, changed and begin warming up. As there wasn't many trainers for warming I was one of the lucky ones that grabbed them early though I had an old one in the car just in case.

The course was a part of the Best Buddies route down in Plymouth. It was a slight uphill for the first two thirds with it kicking up the last third. My plan was to get up to power and HR within the first two minutes and hold it there to prevent fading. I had practiced pacing at home on what I thought would be the route (central park route) so when I found out the course was a bit different I was glad I practiced pacing. Get weighed in and up a few lb's over normal I think from salty food the night before but nothing I was going to do about it. We get on the trainers and calibrated them as normal. I grabbed a trainer with the best fan coverage which was front row center. After that nothing really exciting GO get the jump on my heat and held it there the entire time for best time of the day at that point. Was hopeful for a top 3 ended 7th overall and 2nd in age group with a time of 15:56.74 (first to go under 16min) with 335 avg/watt and 4.44 w/kg (I think this included 20lbs for the bike).

Then headed to the harpoon refreshments with the wife and watched the next heat before heading out, at which point I was still in first. Well the final two heats had some studs in them as the first place overall was also in my age group hence my 2nd in age group results. He averaged 401 watts with a time of 14:40 (Jeffrey Capobianco) after investigating the others above me (all team Grinta) I'm happy with my results and as the leader didn't take the first place age group prize it comes to me.

All in all had a good time and it was so close to home. Also the wife had a good time and wants me to more which is always a bonus. Only thing I would have changed is when I signed up they asked for a company name. I gave them my friends company Boston Paintball but should have put our team name (wasn't thinking). I was flying MRC colors and met one other longtime member there (sorry can't remember name).

Nice. Good idea scoping out the best station based on fan coverage.

Good wattage. Johan 390 watts. Now I know why I could never beat him (except in a crit)

thanks KT and JC power was lower than my test runs but it was a different course. I'm still way ahead of where I was last year at this time so that's good
