Minuteman Road Club

This was my first Wells Ave crit and actually my first crit ever! Pretty small group showed up I'm told. Lined up with Mark Daniels for the C race, Mark Cedrone was there as well and marshalled the last corner heading into the finish. At any rate, I had no idea what to expect and was told breaks never succeed here. I pulled off right at the start and opened up a 15 second gap which I unfortunately couldn't make stick for about 7 1/2 laps. The group got organized and pulled me back. Plan 2 was now in effect, basically sit in and wait for the last lap and then just blast off the front. Heading into the last lap Mark Daniels pulled to the front and put a massive hurt on the field, the group started to pop ever so slightly on that small false flat on the back side...Right at the top I cam around 4(?) riders and drilled it as hard as I could, 1, 2 corners later I'm on the finishing straight, way ahead of the group...Game over. Great ride! Next time i'll just sit in and save myself a little bit of pain I suppose It was really nice having a teammate to work with and have some people cheering you on! Woohoo! We took 1st and 3rd---Great day for MRC!
