Landry's Ride Sat 5/7 7am Westboro - NEED RIDE LEADERS

Another tough Saturday with many of us at Myles Standish.
Okay, who's around early morning to get your Saturday ride out of the way and help out a sponsor?
For all pertinent details see "Landry's Weekly Rides" post as first topic at top of this page.
Please post up if you are available for this Saturday the 7th.

There will likely be a decent group of "regulars" who will be doing the B ride, so more concerned with having A and C leader availability (but also someone prepared if necessary for B). One possibility with the "C" (or maybe B-) is that at some point someone may need to stay back with anyone that starts off with the B's but is struggling with the pace or wants to go shorter.

Adding one more piece to these upcoming weeks - let's start talking up the Fondo with all non-MRC riders who show. It is on a Saturday afterall!

I cannot make the race, but I can make the Landry's ride. I will take any group depending on who else is available.

Last week was only my 2nd Landry's ride and it was awesome, but it turned out just like the first time. Majority of group was MRC for combined A/B ride with minimal participation from Landry's community. C ride was lead by Vlad, but they clearly had their own idea of what they were going to do, so it was basically "them" and the Cat 3/4 team doing an endurance ride together. Has it been different for other weeks this year? How do they advertise the ride to the community? Maybe its still too early in the year to have larger participation, but it seems to me like all this is mainly for us to put on a Landry's ride for us.

Same experience a couple weeks ago Scott.
We have been asked to participate and provide leaders, that is what I'm organizing.
That said, I appreciate the feedback and welcome comments from MRC participants via email after the rides.
I will provide feedback perhaps ask for some additional clarification end of this month after we've had a bunch of rides and experience.

seems everyone should share and tweet about the group ride to get it out to other people? I just found it on the MRC and Landry's FB page and shared it out

Any interest in doing a 60+ mile Wallum Lake loop variation (dip down into RI and CT) from Landry's at B+ pace? (18-19 MPH)

If so, I'd be happy to post up the route and lead it. I'm looking for a long ride Saturday Morning.

Also regarding A/B/C there's an offset between our definition and the Landry's regulars (Landry's = MRC - 1). The C ride that Vlad lead was the B ride from the regular's point of view, and they had a D ride as well.

I agree with Morrissey. If we are planning on leading something we need to get Landry's to post up our plans and then some of the locals who think the Landry's regular rides are too slow will show up to join us.

I'm going to lead a metric from Landry's at about a Killer B pace (probably average 18-19 MPH) We can call it the 'A' group, but it won't compare to what we've been doing as an A ride at the WNR. Steady between the hills, harder on the climbs, regroup at the tops. We can adjust the pace up or down a bit depending on who shows.

Here's the route.
I'll roll from my house at 6:30, then from Landry's at 7.

Nice route! One note, at right around mile 40.5, bearing right onto Minebrook Rd off 16, I was just on that road yesterday (had to pick up a rim for my wife's car at LKQ - thank you City of Worcester construction projects..) and it is extremely rough and broken pavement and mostly dirt with very large potholes all along the road. And it was muddy in spots. Not all that long but won't be very enjoyable. I'd suggest staying on 16 and taking a right onto Sutton Rd then another right to stay on Sutton Rd.

Ok, Dave, I made the change. Still says 62 miles. I was hoping they'd paved that road by now, been a couple years since PJ last took me down it.
