Wachusett Mtn road to summit OK to ride

Ranger at Wachusett Mtn said that the roads are now passable to the summit.

A few riders doing mile hill repeats asked, but didn't go all the way up.
I'm heading there Sunday!

Biked up to the summit of Wachusett Mtn today ... snow on the sides still, but clear to ride to the top!

Water bubbler @ ranger station is working; ranger station open (on weekend anyways)

Well that actually sounds kind of nifty to still have snow while we're humping it to get up there in our shorts and summer kit. I think I'll get out there this week before it all melts. Thanks for the update --

I was hiking over at the mountain yesterday. The road may be passable but was pretty much a sand box at the top anyway.

Yes Bill, It was like a sandbox on the last hump of the mtn .. skidding out if you were out of the saddle .
I walked down that section on the return trip . definately want to descend slowly .

I road it on Sunday. It was passable. The UP road was covered in sand, but rideable in the saddle. The DOWN road was okay.

DO they clear the sand or is it cleared "naturally" with rain over time?
