Sunday morning 7:00am ride -- Tour de Franklin -- 2nd try!

Post by pace21 »

Trying again for this Sunday 8/8 since there's no Hilltowns or Lake Placid this weekend.....

Here’s a chance for all you MetroWest-ers to come down south a bit for a nice ride in my neck of the woods (and I won’t have to drive to a ride for once :) ). On Sunday morning at 7:00am I’ll lead a 50 mile ride starting and ending in Franklin, and traversing Wrentham, Cumberland RI, Lincoln RI, Smithfield RI, Woonsocket RI, Bellingham, Franklin. Pace will be a steady 3 hour pace, we'll probably average in the 18-19mph range. There are some hills, I would say the texture of the ride is very similar to the Stow loop. Start point will be the Remington-Jefferson Elementary School in Franklin, see attached map for location, 7:00am start time.

Here's the route (51 miles) -- the school where we'll start is about 20 minutes from the 495/MassPike intersection.

Hey - I had no idea there were more MRCrs in the neighborhood. I live in Milford and would love to get together for a ride, but I'll be in LP this weekend. PM me your contact info and maybe we can hook up the following weekend.

Ride cancelled due to lack of interest

I'll try again on a non-race weekend...

I think I should be able to make it as well. I'd probably ride over from Milford

I think I'm in. Assuming this is going to be a relatively tame pace. I'm still easily dropped when the road goes up.

Hi all, new here. I was hoping to tag along on this one but won't be able to. If you do another Tour de Franklin count me in.

As an aside, I live in Wrentham. I tend to do 18 or so miles 4 days during the week from 7:30am-ish and the same loop during lunch if I can get away. I average around 17mph solo. If anyone's interested I'm happy to have company.

Cheers,
Grant

Hey guys, just saw this post. I will be up for these rides in the future as I'm now a resident of Franklin! We just unpacked enough to know where the important stuff is so will be up for some rides to get ready for cross.

For the locals in the area. I have been doing the phat tuesday rides out of the Remington-Jefferson school Tuesday night at 6 sharp. Starts out with probably 40 to 50 riders but after the first hill (2 miles into the ride) it usually is 10 to 12 which makes it more manageable. Pace is about 21. Let me know if you are interested for this Tuesday. I plan on dusting the cross bike off but would be interested if there are other MRCrs going.

That's great Mike, we'll have to hook up soon and I can show you the good loops in the area. I've never done the Phat Tuesday ride although I know many who have. We did most of the P.T. loop this morning, but we went further south and west for 50 total. I'll PM you my address, I'm curious to know where you moved to...
