I am thinking about a ride on Monday morning 4/18. The Marathon doesn't start until 9 AM (first racers on the course, I think disabled athletes go first).
I am thinking about parking somewhere near Hopkinton around 6 AM and cycling most of the way into Boston and back. Probably 40 miles, since the final 6 miles will have too much traffic. Anyone interested? It may be still slightly busy in morning, but I bet most of the roads will be closed off on our way back. I heard of a ton of cyclists do this in other years.

I'll join you on that... parking near the start might be a nightmare, so we can park 5 miles away. That will give us a nice 50 miles ride total.

Good point about location How about this location to park... it should be easy for both of us to get to.
Tomasso Trattoria & Enoteca
154 Turnpike Road
Southborough, MA 01772-2120
This would put us almost exactly 5 miles away from the start. This is on Route 9 eastbound, so we don't have to cross or ride on route 9. We just go southwest for a mile, then get on 85 south to Hopkinton Center and the start of the race.

I have another idea. What if we start in Weston/Wellesley, bike out to the start, then bike in to close to the finish, and then back to Weston/Wellesley. I think that will avoid us the chaos of the Hopkinton area in the morning of Marathon Monday. Any suggestions on where to meet there if you like that idea?

Re: Marathon Monday 4/18: Ride to Boston & back
Hi guys... I am going to post a ride also but will ride from my house. I will try to get a group that can leave from the Stow area and head to the Newton area, watch some of the Pros and MRC folks and then will ride home. I was thinking of leaving around 9:00 or so from Stow.

I personally can't do it (although I wish I could). I have to be back at my house at 9 (maybe 9:15). So I have to start early and get back.
Jorge, if you want to jump on the later ride, I completely understand. I would if I could.

Wanted to post another option:
I am meeting a group of miscellaneous folks at Cleveland Circle at 6am. Plan is to ride out to Hopkinton as a group then back to Boston at whatever pace you feel like.

I am scratching my involvement in this ride. So the Hopkinton/Weston ride is dead. I am just going to ride out of my house in the AM. Have fun guys!

Jraguin, sorry you can't make it. I might make the Cleveland ride if I feel like riding that early.
