FMR 9/2 6:00am
FMR 9/2 6:00am
If someone has better knowledge of daybreak than me, go ahead and post up an appropriate start time...
I could be persuaded to do an EFMR (maybe the 32 mile version we did a few months ago?).

Re: FMR 9/2 5:45am
It was right on the edge last time. If at least one guy has lights it might still be OK at 5:45, but my preference would be more like 6:00.

I'm in.
And how about 6:00am.
EFMR is also an option since I'm off work.

EFMR works for me, especially if we use OGD's super secret Coburn Rd. avoidance route.

6AM is a better start time. Let's do that. I can do the EFMR as well. I need the extra miles and the extra hill efforts!
The EFMR will put us finishing close to 8AM. Luckily, I'll still have time for coffee too.

Sounds great. In for EFMR at 6am.

Most likely in. And assuming I get out of bed, then I am in for the EFMR.
Re: FMR 9/2 6:00am
In. Taking the day off so have time for EFMR and tea.
The Coburn avoidance route may keep the group together but it will still hurt if we ride it at pace.

Out.. I have to be out earlier. I might see you on the road.
Re: FMR 9/2 6:00am
Agreed, but I still stand a better chance of staying close on the reduced gradients of the avoidance route. But I will happily (?) do Coburn if that's the plan, because practicing the things you aren't good at is not a bad thing.Smudger wrote:The Coburn avoidance route may keep the group together but it will still hurt if we ride it at pace.

Curious what the "Coburn avoidance route" is since my avoidance strategy was to just skip that whole loop and head for the next hill with a head start on you guys.
I was dead last up every hill but I still did better than I thought I would. Wish I had found time to do that with you guys all summer. I'd probably be in 60% fitness instead of 30% fitness.
Not to take anything away from the rest of you because you all look to be quite strong but, Chris is going to be fun to watch this 'cross season.

Finally got around to posting some frames from the FMR time lapse movie. I was in low res mode to make the images smaller, and many of them suffered from camera shake, but they give you the general idea.
The FMR parade lap:

Resting up for the town line:

Nearing the town line:

After the town line:
(Can you guess how many contested the sprint?)

Smudger corner:

Second assault of Sawyer Hill:

Back down Sawyer Hill the "wrong way:"

Coffee time!!!
