15 racers or so kitted up in Franklin MA for a kill or be killed ride. With mini-vans and Rav 4s secured, we departed fast and furious with Chris "Tomeke" Pare spending quality time at the front, setting a high pace while simulteneaously guiding us (poorly) through the ghettos of Southern MA and RI. Typical of the "Hell of the South" terrain, there were several flats. One in particular took a favorite out of the running for KOM of Tower HIll, Len "Purito" Engel. Later Bill "Hincapie" Turner double flatted in the Arenburg Forest of Smithfield RI. The MRC crowd was finally taking revenge on 545 Levi Rutledge, who rode strong but had to dig deep to match the accelerations of Bradley "Smudger" Wiggins (yes he's english) and Phillipo McQuado (half irish half italian) on the mythical Wilbur Wall. Stuart O'Sweeney hung strong but had a tough time of it after the disasterous pace car incident. Doug "OGD" Horner looked washed up early but somehow managed to add 3 months of training in 1.5 hours and was galloping at the front. There was still a big pack with 1K to go and Carl Voeckler took a flier but made a wrong turn and Thor Crathovd easily took the sprint finish for the victory immediately collapsing next to a Dodge Caravan with wood trim...(not his of course)
