FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30
FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30
Had a horrible day on the bike yesterday. Will be looking for redemption tomorrow AM, even though as of right now my legs still feel like crap. Must be getting old...
Re: FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30
One other old guy with tired legs will be joining you tomorrow.
Re: FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30
In. I could be convinced to do 30 miles.....
Re: FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30

a 3rd old guy with tired legs considering - unless I do my own FMR east version (Wayland-Sudbury area)
Re: FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30
In - I am not a regular FMR rider but the typical route should have you back to the start by 7:00 a.m.
Re: FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30
If we do the full route, it takes less than 90 minutes to complete.Tfrost wrote:what time do you guys normally get back?

Hey, I just joined MRC, and would like to join you on the ride tomorrow. Where are you meeting?
Re: FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30
Hello Alison,
Cutting and pasting from a prior post is some FMR info:
- Start is at Taza D'oro Coffee Shop (Guisseppe's Itallian Grille) in Northboro
- 4 significant climbs
- 23-ish miles
- typically a "spirited" pace, especially on the hills.
- Regroup after hills.
- http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com/Course. ... rse=252435
• here is a link to the standard FMR route [Russ]
- Sprint finish
- Coffee and cycling banter afterwards. Bring money and hang out for a bit.
It is a great ride, I usually attend, but have something a bit more epic planned for tomorrow.

FYI that link didn't come out right.
I may come but it will be cutting it close, so if I do, I would be bailing early.

Toby you can skip the "lollipop" near the end of the ride and make a bee line back to the cars (bypassing the sprint) -- its super easy and cuts out ~15 minutes
Re: FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30
I have to be showered, suited up, and out the door before 730 tomorrow morning at the latest. It would be unwise to show up late to work on my first day.
I think I will attempt to cut it close once I have a week under my belt.

Re: FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30
You're instincts served you well today, Toby: Tom flatted shortly after we started, then blew his spare immediately, causing a slight delay. Not a problem for the rest of us to run behind schedule but would have definitely made you late.
A hearty welcome to new member Alison Crocker and kudos for making the FMR her first ride with the MRC crew! Hope to see you out there with us a lot as the season goes on!

Sorry to slow the crew down - that was quite a pile of glass in the road and unfortunately my tire ates some of it. Need to work on my tube changing technique. Hopefully some FMR in the near future I will have a seamless and complete ride. It was nice to meet some other riders.
Re: FMR - 5/18 @ 5:30
No worries, Tom. Everyone flats at some point or other. Can't believe you were the ONLY one as it seemed the whole pace line went through that pile of glass.
