lake placid ride recommendations?

Does anyone have some recommendations for rides in and around Lake Placid? I am going to be there for the next week or so.

The IM race route is fun when you don't have to run a marathon afterwards. I can send you details but you'll probably find it with a quick search. Whiteface is another classic for some climbing.

The ironman loop is 56 miles, definitely give it a ride and if you do that, on another day ride the course backwards, it will fel like a completely different ride.
