Saturday 1/19 - Potential for Semi-Epic Dirt ride to NH

I'm posting this early in order to build momentum for an quasi-epic ride from Groton to NH and back this Saturday, chaperoned by the indomitable Gary Sclar. The early plan would be to meet in Groton MA at 9am and ride to NH and back on mostly dirt roads with lots of hills, approximately 6000ft of climbing. The weather looks like 42 and sunny, the big question being snow cover from today's storm.

The pace will be base-winter riding, but expect the ride to be hard due to the terrain and elevation. Kudo's to anyone who rides to and from for extra credit.

I'd like to see an early post of people who are interested, even if not committing totally. This is not the type of ride to lurk on.

If you can start from Groton at 10am and have me back there for 2pm I could be in.

I think I'm in for this.

Smudger, it's a pretty challenging route, I wouldn't count on being able to finish the whole thing in 4 hours. At least, I won't be riding that fast.

I think they got around 6 inches in NH. Are all of these roads plowed? I thought part of the route is on fire roads.

Some of the route is on dirt roads, but they're residential roads, not fire roads. I would expect them to be plowed, although, maybe not rideable.

There is one dirt trail that I'm pretty sure won't be plowed.

Sorry guys, I'm switching to to Chris Ps ride. Gary and I discussed and agree the roads could be sketchy.
