Saturday Franklinkill, 8am

Post by pace21 »

Looks like 30 degrees at 8:00, 40 degrees at noon.

Planning on heading out for ~4 hours, need to be back by noon. Heading south into RI at a winter-ish pace, similar to last weeks Princeton ride pace. We'll avoid some of the more egregious hills but will still get in something like 60-65 miles and 4000+ feet of climbing.

Probably something like this:

(see link in thread below.....)

Strong maybe. Will confirm tomorrow.

Too early for me unfortunately; kid has a late game tonight. Anyone up for a 3 hour ride at approx 11am? I'm flexible on the start location but was thinking Westborough area and a 17mph pace.

Where is the start of this ride? I'm seeing an error from the ride with GPS link.

Thanks,

CB -- yup that's the one. Note that it's a little different than what I posted. I set it up so it should work with a Garmin .tcx file (it doesn't double back on itself which has tripped the Garmins up in the past)

CP & CB -- I'll PM you my address for the start location

Same start location as the big Saturday ride we did on 12/22, or very close?

cp43: just checking to make sure A) You got home ok and B) you didn't find anything worse than you did on the ride.

Russ,

Thanks for checking in. I got home fine, Gary drove me home after I cleaned up a bit at Chris' house.

Damage to me: the scrape on my elbow we found right after the crash, and a smaller scrape on my hip that I found when I got home. My shoulder and hip are a little sore too.

Damage to my bike: scrapes on the right pedal, a scuff on the saddle, some torn bar tape, and a slightly torn brake hood.

Damage to my gear: torn arm warmer, torn sleeve on my jacket, two holes in my tights, holes in 3 of the 4 shoe covers I was wearing, tear in my gloves, and a scuff in my bibs.

All in all, not too bad.

I hope you guys had a good rest of the ride.

Chris
