2014 Weeping Willow

Post by rusto »

Always takes that first race of the season to remind me how much harder I supposed to train. The WW course is a combination of rooty but not too rocky up and down single track and gravelly/dirt double. Lots of pedaling.

My 2nd ever 50+ Sport race a nutshell: By the 2nd lap, I'd made a comfy nest in the pit of misery I’d created during lap 1.

Fumbled/unclipped on too many climbs bleeding my 10th position "holeshot" back to 19th of 26. But no crashee and no blood, so that is a plus. Will be harder to achieve that this coming weekend at Gnar Weasels.

Goal for rest of season: to finish in the front ½ of the race.

See you Sunday. I'm guessing you'll start in the field right behind me if the start works the same as TVR, so you can set another goal of trying to catch me. :-)
