Hilltowns Recon Ride 7/19

Post by Robd2 »

Gents, New course this year at Hilltowns. This one might be even tougher than the last.... Anybody interested in a recon ride one weekend in July? I'm thinking two laps for 60ish miles.

I probably need to do this on a Saturday. For those of you not racing Hilltowns this is your chance to experience a little bit of it and get in a great ride out in the Berkshires.

Definitely interested as I'm racing Hilltowns and would like to get a peak at the new course. What day you looking at Rob?

I cant hit the 13th, the wife has claimed that day. I'm thinking 7/19 is the best option.
Why pay $85 to beat up on each other at the Fundo? Join my recon on 7/19 and i'll kick your asses for free. ; )

If you come, we'll hunt a wild board after the ride just for you.

I'm in for the 19th (already found coverage for work, actually, as it's really my only shot to preview at this point). I cannot do the 12th unless we clip in at 8am.

Sounds good guys, 7/19 seems to be comming together. I'm also trying to recruit a few more that are not on this forum. I'm thinking a 10am rollout to give us time to drive out. If you guys know others that might be interested feel free to spread the word.

Probably a stupid question, but is the plan to ride the hills hard? If so I will like go to the Fundo since I doubt with my fitness I can keep up with you guys.

I'll post more details later in the week but yes the plan was to hit the hills hard, and maybe some of the flats.
2 laps of the course

I don't think I can hit any earlier. Friday is going to be a late work night for me so I'll need every minute.

Ok boys its roll call time. I think we also have a few NEBC guys joining us.

The details: 10AM launch from the start location: 66 Thunder Mountain Rd, Charlemont, MA01339

Route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4871424 I know at least half of these roads but could use some help with directions. : )

Pace: I’m thinking quick even race pace on the hills but there will be regroups along the way. Everybody I’ve heard from so far should have no problem hanging. I’m thinking two laps of the course with a water stop back at the cars after the first.

Let me know if there are any questions.
