Had a great race, was in top 10 the whole time, but for each lap the experience was different.

Lap 1: gassed, flubbed all 3 hard spots (2 due to other riders, 1 my own fault)

Lap 2: worried about water (had to stretch last 1/3 of bottle 1 of 2 for this lap), worried about finishing (did I go out too hard?). Flubbed only the log with the rock/root approach.

Lap 3: second wind, felt solid. Flubbed all 3 hard spots AGAIN. EXPLODED past a guy just as we popped back out of the woods for the finish - I thought the psychological effect on him was enough but he rallied and pipped me at the line by 1/2 wheel. I got 9th. Very happy nonetheless.

I think we're all in this video at some point or another.

The tandem made it look easy.

That's quite a mark Russ, I'm not sure you want to point that out

@TheWinner aka the Prez, you should be ashamed that sleeveless Fred made it over after you walked it.

Actually I ran it, passed the leader on the remount, and never saw him again. Just sayin.

But yes it sucks that the only time I put a foot down the whole race was right in front of Thom!
