Smackdown ride Saturday 9AM from Berlin PnR
Smackdown ride Saturday 9AM from Berlin PnR
Weather looks mint for Saturday morning, let's bring back the famous WNRFMR smackdown! This will be the final tuneup for the Battenkillers and as such I'd expect an A and B group to form. It will be a race-pace effort for the lead group so there will be minimal (but not zero) stopping and/or regrouping.
Does anyone with a GPS and a good sense of direction want to volunteer to lead a B group?

Holy route concatenation! I'm In.
I know the roads / route(s) well, so I can lead a 'B' group. Although I will be trying my best to stay with the 'A' group, so I hope the 'B' group is game for that.

Kevin,
I think the B group leader needs more commitment to being the B group leader than that.
Assuming you aren't wearing your big brother's jacket/parachute again I expect you will be going faster than the B group.

Okay, I guess someone else will need to lead a 'B' group, if there is one.

I'll lead the B group from Harvard. I'd like to hit the first 30 as hard as I can.

Nope, a B group leader needs to wait 2-3 minutes after the A group and commit to stay together. Otherwise it's chaos.
Alternatively we could go with an every man for himself approach since there are multiple shortcuts and catch up options available, but lets wait to see if we can find a B group leader.

Unless there are some lurkers out there I don't think we have a B group at the moment
Everyone should be prepared to get themselves home if they get dropped.
That said I'm in for some smack

To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first.

I'll plan on leading the B group.

Would love to lead the B group but will instead be demolishing a wooden deck on Saturday...
Re: Smackdown ride Saturday 9AM from Berlin PnR
I'm familiar with most roads, but not all. As my training has been less than optimal this year, I'm joining the B-group as Battenkill is only going to be a workout for me anyway

Re: Smackdown ride Saturday 9AM from Berlin PnR
I would like to join this ride and I am not sure of the meeting place. Or if someone could confirm it's the 62/495 intersection as illustrated on the map.
Battenkill is my first race, looking forward to a good understanding of what to expect from the race and myself.

Yes it is the Park And Ride parking lot at the junction of 495/62

There will be a lot of Bettenkill experience on hand to reduce or possibly increase your fears. Come and have some fun.

In for the B group, Will have to peel off around 44 Miles though.

This fits my ride window and sounds like such fun, hope you don't mind if I join y'all.

Fly by of today's ride. Entertaining to see the various short cuts or missed turns.

Ahh, when we thought we were chasing Smudge, Brad and DZ they were behind us because they'd missed a turn. The riders we saw ahead where Chris and Sean.
