Pack Monadnock Ride 7/25

Post by Mkidd3 »

We've been bouncing around the idea of having a Pack Monadnock Ride for a while now... Last year some of the boys ventured north and never made it. What's Pack Monadnock you say... https://www.strava.com/segments/627769

I know Hilltowns is this weekend but is there any interest in riding up to NH Saturday the 18th??

Post up so I have a feel for how many we have. Maybe we can do cook out at my place... oh yea, and beers too! :)

OR if folks aren't wanting to drive all the way out to Western Mass to do the Grand Fundo we could push it to the 25th and do our own little MRC hammer fest.

Post up and lets see what the responses are.

Interested. It's been a long time since I did it and would love to test myself again. I am pretty sure either date works for me.

Mark, do you have a route proposal?

The couple of times I've done it in the past we met in Groton and rode from there.

Out for next weekend. It would be bad form to skip the birthday party for both of my children.

OK all! Here are the details of the Pack Monadnock ride! I guess we could call it our own little Fundo for less than $10

8am roll out from my house (102 Burrage Ave, Leominster)
If the group wants to leave earlier I am flexible

The loop... http://ridewithgps.com/routes/9430407 Load it if you can. The more people running it the better. I've done this ride but it's been 2 years...

Notes:
Bring $$ they charge $3 or $4 to ride up to Pack
There is a gas station at the bottom of rt101 AFTER pack that we can hit. Also there is water at the top if you want to refill for free. Or we can hit the cafe in Peterborough.
Road conditions.... DIRT! There will be dirt on this ride and plenty of it so plan accordingly. I recommend two tubes for everyone...
It's almost 80miles so plan on 5hrs to be on the safe side with the spouses...
Oh and I'll have beers at the house.

My cell is 978-549-2397 if you need anything

Also, if anything changes (loop or time) I'll post up ASAP.

Officially out. Can't afford to take that much of a chunk out of the weekend. :(

There is a bunch of construction on 124 to be mindful of. At mile 54.5 I would turn left on temple road then take a right on greenville road to ride into greenville center. The bridge around mile mark 56 is closed for construction as well as the half mile before it is all torn up.

Mark,
Thanks for putting this ride together. Just what the doctor ordered. I'd love to do it again some time.
