Long Ride Saturday 2/17 11AM

Post by cbusick »

Anyone interested in doing a long (3-4) hour ride on Saturday? Starting around 11 so it's at least close to freezing out.

I could do the Tri-State metric (Wallum Lake), or Circumnavigation of Worcester.
I'm up for other ideas as well.

Interested but likely need to be on the trainer earlier.
FYI though, I'd avoid north and northwest of Worcester. There was more ice and snow still on sides of roads yesterday than I expected up in Paxton/Rutland/northern Holden, especially on side roads. Any more melting of that today will be icy tomorrow.

Thanks Dave,
It's probably best to head south then. I'll plan on doing the Wallum Lake loop, something like:

I can start from my house, or Roche Bros in Westboro.

Not sure if it would work, but I can ride from Northboro (ForeKicks II) starting at 11:30. I'd have until 4pm and i'd need to keep it in the 3hr range.

Emmanual,
I'm not planning on going FranklinKill pace here. I think you'll be fine.

Don, I can start earlier, but not later, and Northboro is in the wrong direction. :-)

Chris,
I'm pretty locked in as far as that window -- i can't start any earlier. Another time i guess -- once the weather permits a more northern route.

Would like to get out the road, but won't be able to make this. Bummer.

Saturdays Aimee does a long run so my weekend morning rides are restricted to Sundays until Boston. I'm getting closer but I still share the same concern as Emmanuel, my endurance pace is still pretty low. Keep me in the loop though. I need some of these rides this year. Anything slowish on a Sunday and should be a go.
