Palmer race consolation smackdown ride sat 9:30am

Post by pace21 »

You’re disappointed because you wanted to suffer and build fitness on Saturday at Palmer but they went and cancelled your fun. Have no fear, the return of the world famous WNRFMR will take its place!

This will be a hard, fast ‘race sim’ with no stops and minimal regroups. I’ll post a route later but expect something like this:

Rolling from the 110 grill at 9:30am sharp on sat 3/24

I'm in, but given the proliferation of the Crat-Flu do we want to reconsider the "minimal regroups" aspect of the ride? If it ends up being a full drop ride I could envision many solo riders floundering around Metro-west.

Thinking about testing myself and jumping in on this ride. Is the 110 Grill in Hopkinton?

When I looked at the posted route example it just took me to Pare's summary page on Strava (impressive total distance BTW!). How far is the Sat ride likely to be?
I've yet to pry the road bike out of the trainer and onto the tarmac so not sure where my fitness level is...for that reason I'm 50/50

Here's the route for Saturday. Options are abundant if you want to take a shortcut to save energy. Miles 22.8, 43.6, and 50.9 are all good options for that.

I think this likely pushes me off the fence, though! Or, at a minimum, establishing a sweep group

I think it's a safe bet there will be at least two groups.

Seeing that there are already plans of establishing a sweep. Would anybody in the smackdown group want to do a second lap of the harvard loop, followed by trying to chase down the rest of the group?
