WNR 7/11, Vaughn Hill Edition?

Post by mfwestbe »

The club meeting is tomorrow, but I doubt many of us will be able to meet for a ride before it, especially as Fondo volunteer meeting is at 6.

To switch it up a little bit, I'm thinking of skipping west bare and going down to Vaughn hill, then going down west bare to then also hit east bare, which we usually don't do. Ultimately, this will be a longer route, but we have the daylight. I can create a route later if this doesn't make sense.

Plus, great weather today...

Probably more of a B ride for me tonight...2 weeks vacation and on back up equipment...getting the excuses out there early!

And here is the route - modified WNR to add Vaughn Hill and the section of W. Bare we don't usually do, then heads directly back. It is total about 4 miles longer, but only adds about 200 ft more climbing.

At mile marker 31 we could turn right onto Green Rd. and head back by the usual route via Sampson/Wilder/Old Bay if we're really aching to do Old Bay :)

Are you trying to avoid the fun of West bare? It only maxes at like 10%, yeah?

No, we'd be turning onto Green at mile marker 31 (after turning right onto Bolton Rd. after W. Bare).

Just looking at that again- I think I did that originally but it does actually add a couple miles I think. We can make a game time decision en route?

Absolutely. When we get to that point I may be quite happy skipping Old Bay :)

I think Derin liked it. He and Kyle went top 10!

Kind of annoyed at west bare segment though - must pull past the corner...
