Saturday Stow Ride: 2 Loops 6:00 am Start

Post by teamkimball »

Anybody up for a long ride on Saturday 2 Loops Stow?

Let's do 2 Groups: 20 mph and 18 mph.

Loop #1 Leaving at 6:00 am Sharp ( Please be on time )

Loop #2 Leaving at Approx 7:15am - 7:20am ( 20 mph group)
I will plan on meeting in the plaza for a very quick stop between loops. People can join the group or do a water bottle exchange. I would like to keep this to only a couple minutes. Please note that if there is more than 1 group we will try to estimate when that group will arrive in Stow.

Is there anybody to lead an 18 mph or 17mph group?

Post up if you are planning on leading another pace so others can plan on attending.

Hi Guys... Kind of quiet on this post. Please let me know if others are joining. If no other are planning on joining then I am going to ride a little different loop.

Thanks

I'm a big maybe for Saturday and would be only 1 loop. Will confirm as soon as my wife finalizes her weekend plans. I'm "repaying" for my weekend in Toronto so she gets dibs ;)

I am in and ready to do 2 loops with the 18 mph squad. Willing to lead.

NOTE: Last week in this group, we (sort of) handled things like a Wed ride: some riders waiting to regroup at the top of Oak Hill (@ Pinnacle), the intersection of Bolton Rd / E. Bare HIll and at Eldridge/Taylor. Is everyone who's thinking of riding the 18 group good with doing that?

We arrived back at the parking lot after 1 loop at about 7:30.

I'm in with the 18's again. I'm going to be starting at 5am again and planning to do 5 hours. I'll meet you all at 6am in the parking lot.

Scott et al,

don't know if you guys are hell-bent on riding the normal loop multiple times but an alternative would be to ride a portion of the B2B route. At least up through Willard Brook state forest (the first sizable hill) and perhaps to the NH border.. Here's a proposed route..

Paul,

I'd be interested in this. My rides are feeling a bit like Groundhog Day. Some new scenery would be good. I probably need to be home for 10am but would like to do 80+ so probably need to get on the road closer to 5am than 6am. Will check if I can get a wider window so I can get in 100 and post back later.

The plan was to leave Scott's house at 5:00 although don't know yet if he and Gary would be interested in a different route..

Out for tomorrow... road bike is out of commission for a day or two for maintenance so I'll probably be in the woods.

To the 18 mph group: what is your preference: loopage x 2 or Granite State Express?

I'm fine with any ride route, so as long as I am back in my driveway at 10. Last day for munchkin soccer, I need to be at the Pompo fields for 10:30.

Hot coffee for whomever rolls in first!

Tony, yes, we're at 35 Conant Drive.

I am still hoping to start at 0600 in Stow.. will grab someone's wheel and hang on as long as I can - if there is no 17-18 mph group .

I am only doing one loop .
I know that there is a prev post I can dig up for the route, but I plan on making up my own route if ya drop me on the hills

Gents,
I need to ride, but there's no way I can get over to Scott's by 5AM. Can you guys head toward Shaws and meet up with the main group at 6AM. I'm open to a new route, but I'm still seriously jet-lagged after a 15 hour flight today, so a 4AM wake up call is not happening.

Good ride today, despite the traffic and potholes. But I took my mimicry of Smudger's technique a bit too far: I flatted two miles after he fixed his - gotta get me demma Co2's, baby. Arms were ripped by the time I got back on the road.
