Wells 4/4 Crashapalooza

Post by Bruce »

Hey who was that from MRC racing the B race? Looked strong throughout.

The A race was sizzling fast for this time of year @ ~27mph, huge field with guys like Adam Myerson and Justin Spinelli. I showed ave 255watts for the race.

The race was marred by a grizzly crash in the final sprint that saw probably 15 guys go down...three of them taken away by ambulance.

I was sitting about 15th on the left side...the whole thing happened right in front of me in the last turn.......at 32mph... there was nowhere to go but up over the curb. Made it, but unfortunately someone was sliding across the sidewalk. Bizarre. Things slowed down almost to slow motion. Somehow had the instincts to tuck and roll. Pretty banged up .....but not bad considering.

Some of you might know Ron Levine? He did not look so lucky.

Glad you are checking power numbers and not how many teeth you have left. Sounds pretty messy.

Ouch, that sucks. I was wondering what was going on over there as I was riding home from a long ride and saw two police cars, a fire truck, and an Ambulance go flying into Wells Ave. Glad you're OK.

No went for a 3.5 hour endurance ride. Didn't think it was wise risking a C race, 6 days before Battenkill.
