CCNS Kermesse
lets start with the rain, rain, and more rain. Jacob came out and braved the elements with me for the 3/4 race. As the race started there was a few small attacks nothing to worry about, and then at about 10 to go 2 guys went and I slowly watched the gap grow, and thought I need to get in there. With a lot of disorganization in the peloton a solid effort could get away. So I waited for the "bike path" section of the race on the hairpin turn, got in the front of the pack coming down in the turn and sprinted away on the bike path, and just kept driving it till I bridged. The 3 of us worked well together I was putting in enough effort not to get called out as a sand bagger but I was under threshold about the whole time. While in the break I kept screwing up the 180d turn and the two would go around me and i would be 3rd wheel coming into finishing turns, so i made it my advantage of taking the turn crappy to end up on the back, so last lap thats what i did, more on purpose this time. so i sat on and waited and when the time came launched my sprint and easily took the win. Then Jacob came over to congratulate me and quickly switch my numbers and get in line for the P123. the P123 was standard issue, Glv got away and put a big gap on the pack and everyone else was racing for 4th. coming down to the last lap i was chasing to close down a gap that 2 Glv rides put on the feild and on the last turn i got them and unknown to me i had Adam Myerson on my wheel, when the sprint hit i had nothing left to get out of the saddle and just kept the pace i had for 11th, afterward Adam came an gave me a job well done for shutting down that gap, so that was kinda cool. it ended up being a very late night tho as the race ended at 930pm. and i had more sand and dirt on me than i thought possible.

Good stuff Tom. Sounds like it may have been your last Cat 3 race?

I still got 12ish points to go
Re: CCNS Kermesse
IMO Mr. JD is doing a disservice to NE road racing. He should use more judgment and the eyeball test to grant upgrades rather than strict points. Oh well, more carnage awaits the cat 3's!!
