Stow to Wachusett Saturday 6:00am

Post by gcdavid »

I'm looking to ride from Shaw's to Wachusett on Saturday via the route we took before. A lot of climbing! Anyone interested?

What time are you thinking about heading out?

time of start: ummmm 6:00am (see post subject line)

Length of ride: I am shooting for 100, but will start early and can add on at the end. The loop is 82 miles. See http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-stat ... 3855773700. However, there are numerous points where you could cut back earlier.

I'm not planning on going terribly hard. The distance and climbing will be hard enough!

Assuming I get my butt out of bed, I'll ride over and start off with you guys. I'm not in for the full either and I'll just pick a time to peel off and b-line it for home. If I'm not on time I'm not coming so don't wait.

Scott,
6 to 11 is 5hours
that's plenty of time for a century.
Just average 20 and you're all set.

Sounds great but the bill for last weekend's B2B ride is coming due tomorrow. A day with the kids (and an afternoon with the Sox).
I could do something on Sunday.

Hey Welling, what did you get for the total feet of climbing? My GPS is telling me.......11,617 ft. I ended up adding a little bit at the end to get a total of 93 miles.

Hey, could be off. But, it sure felt like 11,000! Justice Hill Cut-off is no joke!

So 11,000 is off? That's interesting, because the Climb to the Foothills route is listed at 4400 vertical feet.

http://www.crw.org/cgi-bin/cues2htm.pl?id=288

So, given we did that route at 4400, then went to Wawa, it should be higher 5085

Hey, what's a few thousand vertical feet between friends. Back when I was a kid I used to walk to school and it was 1000 feet of uphill both ways.
