PMC 2008: Return of the Son of No Rest 'til Rehoboth Part II

Post by Jeffrey Scornavacca »

Who's in for the quick ride down to Bourne on Day 1?

I know Senior Todisco will be making his return to the big stage as will Mr. Dongoski. Welcome back both of you. I know the Kadlicks are riding as are Mr. Longwell and Mr. Kruse. Who did I miss?

Purgatory is out this year and if last year was any indication it will be a faster ride in Bellingham as a result of fewer hills. As in previous years, Lynn and company will have a water station for us to pick up bottles as we pass through Bellingham on Cross Street. Swapping out bottles in Bellingham should allow us to ride straight to Rehoboth rather than stopping in Franklin.

As we traditionally have, let's meet at the porta-johns by the fast start section. Alternatively, we could meet around the corner where it's less congested.

I'm riding back to Wellesley immediately after we get to Bourne, so I'm going to hang with the big dogs as long as I can mindful that I'll have another 70 miles to go afterwards. Forecast calls for hot but cloudy weather.

Scott Hero is also riding... Kadlicks are starting from Wellesley, I believe the rest of us at taking off from Sturbridge... Too bad about Purgatory, it thins out the group, and I do love a good hill or two... :D

Jeff,

when you decide to back off the hammerfest, Joy and I will be putting along somewhere in the middle of the pack. We have found that riding toward the middle/back of the pack and encouraging those folks that are working hard to complete the ride (something we all take for granted) has been more rewwarding than racing to Bourne.

Not sure I want to begin the ride away from the main event, I like being in the middle of all that energy and excitement, also it's a good way to show off your track stand skills.... We can regroup once we get sorted if others don't want to start en mass....Let's talk about on Friday night...

I will look for everyone at the port-a johns by the fast start. I am looking to do about 18MPH due to some lingering knee issues- so I will not be hammering...
